The 8th Annual Salties One-Day Derby will be held on September 6th (7th rain date) at the Sesuit Harbor Café in Dennis. The program will be similar to past years, with two rule changes. First, in addition to bringing in a fish to be measured, a catch and release fish witnessed by a member (length and girth) may now also be entered. Second, a bass to be weighed in must be a minimum of 36 inches. The Derby will be open to all members fishing anywhere on the Cape, bass and blues, from boat or shore. Non-members may fish with you but are not eligible for prizes. You may start as early as 12:01 a.m. on Sept. 6, but any fish you want to enter must be weighed in at our café weigh station no later than 4:30 p.m. sharp. No exceptions. This will give us time to determine the winners and process awards before dinner, which will start at approximately 5:00 p.m. The cost will be $15.00 each for a member or a spouse and will include a spiffy tee shirt for derby participants, buffet, and awards. The fee for non-members is $25.00 By the way, bring the beverages of your choice, as this is a BYOB café. The menu will be a buffet style dinner with all the fixings. Everyone must pre-register at the August meeting or use the form below. Registration deadline is September 3rd.
